Consultancy Process
Mentoring - Coaching
Schools
As a Leadership Consultant and Coach, Toni recommends a consultation with the principal to ascertain the current status of leadership learning within the school. She negotiates with the principal as to the future directions of building a leadership learning culture.
Executives/Aspiring Executives
Toni recommends a consultation with the coachee to establish a Mentoring-Coaching Context - The main aim of the process is to begin a relationship of confidence, trust and confidentiality to gain an understanding of the coachee’s career path plan.
The model of mentoring - coaching she has adopted, is based on the model of Pask & Joy (2007) following her contact with Barrie Joy at the Australian Principal’s Centre, Melbourne and at a subsequent meeting with him at the London Centre for Leadership in Learning, Institute of Education, University of London, UK. (2006)
The key aspects of this model emphasises leadership learning in the following:
• A model for learning• A key strategy for building capacity and generating sustainable improvement.
• A process to help a person to own issues.
• Empowering and enabling the client in contexts
Together a Leadership Learning Portfolio is designed and developed through the mentoring – coaching process.
